World Venture Forum 2023: Kitzbühel instead of Davos – innovation instead of politics

One of the largest networking events for international investors & experts from 3 to 8 July 2023

The World Venture Forum (WVF) 2023 will take place from 3 to 8 July 2023 in Kitzbühel and this year’s motto is “Boom & Bust”. For the 9th time, international investors and experts from the fields of Crypto, Circular Economy, Life Sciences, LegalTech, Family Offices & Institutional Private Equity will gather in Kitzbühel and exchange views on key topics in the fields of innovation, the future, high-tech and venture capital in various discussion panels and round tables at an altitude of over 1,000 metres.

What started nine years ago as a networking meeting of the members of the European Super Angels Club (ESAC) has grown over time into a week-long expert conference of global reach. From 3 to 8 July, renowned investors will discuss changes, challenges and, above all, opportunities in the investment market on six different alpine pastures around Kitzbühel.

Participants can look forward to international experts such as Naoki Kamimaeda (Partner & Europe Division Head @ Global Brain Corporation), Kilian Graulich (Investor, Venture Builder & Partner @ Infinitas Capital Group Ltd), Stefan Bollhalder (Chairmann & CEO @ St. Gotthard Wealth AG) or Martha Oberndorfer (Associate Partner @ Venionaire Capital Ges.m.b.H.). Further speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are expecting a total of over 500 participants from more than 25 different countries and are already looking forward to the fact that, for once, the world will not be visiting Kitzbühel for a major sporting event,” explains Venionaire’s Chief of Marketing Julia Gülden-Zeisberger, who is responsible for organising the event with her team. Among others, delegations from Japan, India, Israel, Great Britain, Canada, Sweden and the USA have already registered.

After years of boom, the world suddenly finds itself in a recession due to social, economic and geopolitical upheavals “A dramatic example of a boom & bust cycle as it is written in the book. However, the world does not stand still. On the contrary: those who invest anti-cyclically in the crisis and drive innovation will benefit greatly in a few years”, explains Berthold Baurek-Karlic, CEO and Managing Partner of Venionaire Capital, President of the European Super Angels Club and initiator of the World Venture Forum (WVF).

“With our event in Kitzbühel, we want to help move the world towards increased cooperation, which means networking investors, allowing mutual inspiration, learning from each other and picking up important innovations together.”

Experience has shown that it takes not only a good technical understanding, excellent feel for start-up personalities, but above all personal relationships and trust to get international investors to co-invest. The World Venture Forum (WVF) offers its participants a variety of opportunities to make new contacts and rekindle old acquaintances.

“The dynamics in Kitzbühel are special and allow for a unique exchange,” explains Nikolaus Futter, Business Angel and President of AAIA. Away from the official events that take place in the course of the week-long World Venture Forum, where people with similar interests, visions and goals come together at so-called “theme alms”, targeted contacts are made at VIP break-outs or official side events.

In any case, one of the highlights of the World Venture Forum 2023 will be the grand gala banquet. In the course of the festive evening, there will be some show elements as well as a ceremonial honouring and awarding of prizes.
