What happens if there is no agreement on fisheries by July 2020?

The Political Declaration includes a joint commitment on best endeavours to reach an agreement on fisheries by 1 July 2020.

The time to negotiate such an agreement will be very short (four months), but it is in our mutual interest to conclude the fisheries agreement in due time, so it can be implemented as of 1 January 2021 in view of ensuring sustainable fisheries management.
